For the Attorney General Garnet River designed and implemented a complete automated distributed three site backup infrastructure between Troy, Albany and NYS with the Troy location being the main facility. This new backup infrastructure improved reliability and eliminated many manual processes. This enterprise grade solution allows each site to backup its data to another off-site location automatically over the network eliminating the need to ship backup tapes to a secondary location. This architecture allows Albany to back up to Troy, Troy to backup to Albany and NYC to backup to Albany all over the network.

This architecture was built using a SunFire V880 (master) and a SunFire V120 (slave) at each location with Albany and NYC using a StorEDGE L700 and Troy using a StorEDGE L180. The software used to perform the backups is Veritas Netbackup. This solution was a complete new environment built from the ground by the engineers at Garnet River.
