Reading First Assessment Tracking SystemAs the technology consultant chosen by a research firm contracting with the Connecticut State Department of Education on a six-year pilot for Reading First--a central component of state's effort to comply with the No Child Left Behind act--Garnet River designed a web application and database to track students' standardized test scores. The Reading First Assessment Tracking system has over 700 users and tracks participating districts, schools, classes and over 17,000 K-3 students and their test scores. The database maintains assessment results for each type of assessment and testing period as students progress from grade to grade. Detailed reports employ database driven benchmarks and graphical visualization to identify students at risk. Summary reports are available at the class, school and state level. Supported assessments include TerraNova, Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills (DIBELS), Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test (PPVT) and Developmental Reading Assessment (DRA). New types of assessments can easily be added to the system. Architecture
