Permit TrackingGarnet River reengineered a permit/notification tracking and fee payment system for a state agency and replaced it with a secure intranet and extranet application with a centralized database. The extranet site allows a contractor licensed by the State to login, update contact information, enter/amend project information, make electronic payments and view payment history. The site provides a straightforward, paperless means for licensed contractors to notify the agency of upcoming projects and also reduces the amount of work surrounding the collection and processing of payments by allowing the contractors to pay fees online using a credit or debit card. Credit card verification is obtained via a VPN linking the web application server to the Global Payments processing center. The Intranet site provides agency staff role-based access to application functions based on job responsibility. The functions include contractor maintenance, user administration, project entry and amendment, emergency permit processing, payment entry, case management, complaint filing, and various reports.
